In Episode 77, The Savage Curtain, the Excalbians stage a battle in which Kirk, Spock, Surak, and Abraham Lincoln must fight some of history's greatest tyrants. Then, in Episode 78, All Our Yesterdays, Spock and McCoy wind up in an ice age when they try and rescue Kirk from a time machine accident. Spock, now an earlier version of himself, falls in love and refuses to return to the Enterprise.
